1963

Born in Tainan City, Taiwan

1973

Came to United States with his family due to social unrest in Thailand. He was sent to a tiny boarding school, Oneida Baptist Institute, with his brother. Every kid was required to work, and Huang was responsible for cleaning the bathrooms.

1984

Received undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from Oregn State University

1992

Received master's degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University

1993

Co-founded NVIDIA and served as its CEO and president

1999

Named Entrepreneur of the Year in High Technology by Ernst and Young LLP

2003

Received the Dr. Morris Chang Exemplary Leadership Award, awarded to those who have made exceptional contributions to the development, innovation, growth, and long-term opportunities of the fabless semiconductor industry, from the Fabless Semiconductor Association

2007
